Surface Pattern Design Guild in Berkeley California

It was educational and enjoyable to attend the September meeting of the Surface Pattern Design Guild (SPDG) when I was in the San Francisco area for the last 2 weeks. Thank you to guild member Jill Turney for the excellent presentation of her recent design projects which included a beautiful lino cut she had designed for home exteriors and a homeware project in collaboration with a sustainable Swedish wood supplier. Also many thanks to guild member Amido Rankin who was down-sizing her collection of bought fabrics, so kindly brought a selection of them to give to the group members. I was lucky enough to find a few paisley prints to bring back to UK as can be seen in the photo below. I am very pleased to be a member of the SPDG and always find their insight and enthusiasm extremely beneficial. During the day, Jill took me to two excellent fabric stores: Urban Burp in Vallejo and Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley.
