My partner and I only had time to see the permanent exhibition which explains the important milestones in the history of design spanning the last few hundred years. Black and white is by far the most popular colour combo for my rat design. I received orders for 3 cushions yesterday so today i was back in the print room screenprinting the fabric. It's very enjoyable when the printing is successful. Tomorrow i will collect the prints, iron them to fix the inks and then sew them and send them out. I'm glad my print "Butterfly Collector" went to a happy passer-by seen in the photo. Good vibes all round at yesterday's Free Art Friday event organised locally by Estuary Fringe. Artists & designers donated art and it was handed out free on the street to anyone who liked it. It was also pinned up in unusual places so that people could take it home if they saw it and liked it. Submitted in March 2014 this design was my second entry to design a print for leggings for the Front Row Society, a fashion brand based in Berlin, Germany. I used a photograph from a trip to Ghana, Africa in 2013. I sliced the photo into thin strips and shifted them to give an interesting effect and unexpected colour changes. I love to experiment when I am creating my designs. Inventing new techniques and discovering skills online from other designers helps to keep my designs
