Paul Smith Exhib at Design Museum

Inspirational work from England's foremost menswear designer. So many influences, ideas, projects, colours, beautiful print designs and of course... the trademark stripes. The exhibition describes his first collection shown in a hotel room in paris to the main video of preparations for his latest catwalk show with enlightening narration from the man himself. 2 Mock-ups of his chaotic studio full of obscure collectibles and ornaments are shown in rooms along with hundreds of photos and artwork from his own personal collection. Individuality is the key with great photos of all the uniquely designed Paul Smith shops in major cities around the world. Many of his other design projects are on display especially his interest in cycling with examples of his Giro D'Italia racing shirts, Giro cycle helmet and Isle of Man Olympic postage stamps. Go see!
