Are you creative and living in the Essex or London areas? Would you like to learn how to design printed textiles? Do you have a passion for fashion or home furnishing fabrics? A unique new series of evening classes is starting on 12th September in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK. The classes are called "Designing Printed Textiles" and tutor Patrick Moriarty will guide you through the simple techniques.
Patrick has been designing unique artwork for printed textiles, full-time for the last 20 years. He has a wealth of experience to share. His designs are regularly bought by major international fashion retailers for their fashion collections. The classes are being held at Metal Art School, Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK. At the classes, you will be entitled to a free printed fabric sample of your design. Depending on the type of fabric you choose, a sample would normally cost between £9 and £23. It’s a great incentive to come along and create your own fabric design. The size of your free sample is approximately 28″ by 18″. It’s large enough to make an 18″ cushion cover.
There are many different ways of making designs and Patrick will teach you how to design by hand but also he will teach you basic CAD techniques using Adobe Photoshop. Thanks to Spoonflower digital printing company who have agreed to give every student at the classes, a free sample of their first design. Spoonflower have also provided free sample packs for every student. The packs include small printed samples of every type of fabric that Spoonflower produce, such as chiffon, cotton, faux suede, lycra and velvet. There are also samples of their wallpaper and gift wrap in the packs. The first two classes are already fully-booked but more places are available for other dates in September and October.
